Two Belts – And History – On the Line at UFC 330

For the first time in over seven years, the UFC returns to Philadelphia this Saturday. With a pair of title fights highlighting a packed card at UFC 330, there’s plenty of love being shown to Philly in a long-awaited return.

Headlining the event is an epic welterweight title fight between two of the UFC’s most impervious fighters in Ian Garry and Islam Makhachev. 

Garry, the challenger, is getting a long-awaited title shot after his one and only loss in the UFC came in a title eliminator bout in December 2024. Since then, he's rebounded with two more wins and positioned himself to finally challenge for the belt. Garry, 17-1 with nine wins by decision in his career, enters as a +265 underdog and with his best path to victory through the judges, where he's +475 to win by decision.

Garry will face one of the promotion's most daunting challenges in Makhachev. The former lightweight champion is making his first defense of the welterweight belt after he won it in a suffocating victory over Jack Della Maddalena last November. With a win, Makhachev would break his tie with Anderson Silva and take sole possession of the longest winning streak in UFC history, at 17 fights. 

Makhachev enters Saturday as a -340 favourite, with his dominant, controlling style reflected in the winning method market. By decision, where he has picked up 10 wins in his career, is the shortest odds at +125. A submission, his most-used route to victory with 13 submission finishes in his career, trails close behind at +210. 

In the co-main event, the women’s strawweight championship will be contested between Mackenzie Dern and challenger Gillian Robertson.   

Dern is making her first title defense after she won the vacant belt against Virna Jandiroba at UFC 321 last October by unanimous decision. Riding a three-fight win streak, Dern enters Saturday as a -215 favourite, with by decision (+165) and submission (+215) the most-likely methods after eight wins by each so far in her career. 

The Canadian Robertson comes back as a +180 underdog in her first career title fight. Robertson is in tremendous form, having won her last five fights, including a unanimous decision win over Amanada Lemos just five months ago. Despite her capability of stopping fights by knockout (three wins), submission (nine wins), or at the judges (five decisions), the lone method of victory with odds shorter than 13/1 for Robertson is by decision (+285).
