A ‘New Two’ Rematch or Joker’s Last Stand at Wimbledon?
It was just a few short weeks ago that Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner delivered a match for the ages, with Alcaraz surviving five sets to defend his French Open crown. Now, with Wimbledon set to get underway, oddsmakers anticipate a rematch between the young phenoms dubbed the “New Two”.
Alcaraz, despite being seeded below Sinner, enters the All England Club as the favourite at +145*. As the back-to-back defending champion at Wimbledon, he just edges Sinner on the odds board, with the Italian coming back at +150.
While Alcaraz and Sinner represent a new era of men’s tennis, the old guard hasn’t yet fully disappeared. Novak Djokovic, the last active member of the Big Three, sits third on the odds board at +450. The 24-time major champion has played in each of the last six Wimbledon finals but hasn't won since 2022, with losses to Alcaraz in both 2023 and '24.
Just behind the top trio—and the only other player with odds shorter than 20/1—is Jack Draper (+800). The world No. 4 and British hopeful gives the home crowd its best shot at a champion since Andy Murray’s run nearly a decade ago.
As for Canada’s contenders, none are expected to replicate Milos Raonic’s 2016 final appearance, but the field is led by world No. 27 Félix Auger-Aliassime and No. 29 Denis Shapovalov (both listed at +8,000). They’re joined by long shot Gabriel Diallo (+15,000), who claimed his first ATP title on grass just last week.
From the dawning of a new era, to one last push from a legend, to a potential hometown hero—Wimbledon’s men’s draw is packed with storylines. A spectacular tournament awaits. Quiet, please.
