What Happened in NFL Week 13?
Bears 31 Steelers 28 (Chicago -2.5)
The Chicago Bears continue to sneak out close games, with their latest win over the Mason Rudolph-led Pittsburgh Steelers enough to keep them in first in the NFC North. Plenty of questions remain around Caleb Williams and the genuine quality of these Bears, but they’ve given themselves a chance in a brutally tough division – an accomplishment itself in year one of the Ben Johnson era.
Chiefs 23 Colts 20 (Indianapolis +4.5)
The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed the Indianapolis Colts to Arrowhead firmly in now-or-never territory, and never crept into frame until the decade’s kings fought it off. Though they remain outside the playoff picture, the Chiefs finally won a close game in 2025, and remain a team to be reckoned with as the final month of the regular season approaches.
Cowboys 24 Eagles 21 (Dallas +3)
A fifth straight win, and a stranglehold on the NFC East, appeared to be in the Philadelphia Eagles’ grasps after they stormed out to a 21-0 lead. Yet, as these Eagles do, they left observers puzzled after allowing 24 straight points to the Dallas Cowboys in a wildly messy game. The division, and a home playoff game, remains a near certainty for Philly – but that is about all that is certain about this team.
NFL Week 12 Power Rankings 2025
1. L.A. Rams
The L.A. Rams continued to stake their claim as the league’s finest team in 2025, slicing through the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with ease on Sunday Night Football.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks rebounded from a deflating loss to the rival Rams with a one-score win over the Tennessee Titans. Don’t let the final score deceive you – the Seahawks roundly outplayed a league basement dweller, as should be expected.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
With their backs against the wall, the Chiefs clawed back against the Colts and came out a winner in overtime. Despite their failures in close games, Kansas City has remained a top-five team by most advanced metrics all season long, with its record hardly indicative of its bona fides.
4. New England Patriots
One of the sloppier games of the season from Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots opened the door for an upset, but Joe Flacco’s Bengals couldn’t walk through. It’s looking increasingly likely the AFC will go through New England in January – just like in the 2000s… and 2010s.
5. Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor was bottled up and Daniel Jones was hurried as Indy fell at Arrowhead, but it was hardly an indictment of this Colts team. They remain one of the strongest sides in an open AFC, and an offense that remains elite in its efficiency deserves faith.
6. Detroit Lions
Though a Lions defense that had flexed its muscles repeatedly didn’t show up against Jameis and the Giants, the high ceiling of their offense reappeared and reminded us how dangerous the Lions can be in ideal conditions. Whether they get those conditions in January or not, however, remains in question.
7. Denver Broncos
With their closest AFC West challenger, the L.A. Chargers, on bye as well, it was a quiet week for the Denver Broncos – hopefully Kansas City’s triumph didn’t spoil a down week in Denver.
8. Philadelphia Eagles
A red-hot start on offense and a 21-point lead disappeared in Dallas, where the rival Cowboys stormed back to knock off the Eagles. For as encouraging as the early offensive showing was, the Eagles remain a deeply confounding team.
9. Buffalo Bills
The ridiculous up-and-down nature of the Buffalo Bills’ season continued on Thursday, when the Houston Texans harassed Josh Allen relentlessly. It’s rare to see Allen look so human, such is his physical dominance over most opponents – but if the ‘25 Bills have proven anything, it’s that they’ll look like a contender in Pittsburgh next Sunday.
10. Green Bay Packers
Down their best pass catcher in Tucker Kraft and their offensive heartbeat in Josh Jacobs, the Green Bay Packers were the latest to benefit from JJ McCarthy’s incompetence in a 23-6 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The division-leading Chicago Bears may feel aggrieved, behind two NFC North foes in these power rankings, but most advanced metrics frame it similarly.
