It was a loaded weekend around the NFL, and so there’s plenty to unpack in the Week 16 highlights – plus, BET99 NFL odds for Week 17.

What Happened in NFL Week 16?

Seahawks 38 Rams 37 (L.A. +2)

It was framed as a potential game of the year, and did it ever deliver. A 16-point fourth quarter powered the Seattle Seahawks’ comeback and pushed the battle for the No. 1 seed into overtime. Yet again, the advantage of getting possession second was proven, as Seattle responded to the L.A. Rams’ touchdown drive with one of its own – and the game-deciding two-point conversion to boot.

Bears 22 Packers 16 (Chicago -1)

Just a few short weeks after the Green Bay Packers held serve at Lambeau, the Chicago Bears pulled off a miracle to respond in kind at a windy Soldier Field. An incredible back-corner touchdown catch on fourth down pushed the NFC North foes into overtime, and then Caleb Williams called game with a flawless downfield strike.

Jaguars 34 Broncos 20 (Jacksonville +3.5)

Two of the league’s hottest teams, jostling for playoff positioning in the AFC, were expected to deliver Sunday afternoon drama. Instead, Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence continued his best stretch of play since he was at Clemson and made an excellent Denver Broncos defense look ordinary.

NFL Week 16 Power Rankings 2025

1. L.A. Rams

The Rams no longer hold the No. 1 seed in their hands, but led by Matthew Stafford’s mastery, there remains no better team in the NFL.

2. Seattle Seahawks

After coming up a field goal short in the first round, it was imperative the Seahawks knocked off L.A. in the second of two games. Now, the pressure is on Sam Darnold and co. to see it through – with another potential battle for the No. 1 seed looming in Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers.

3. Buffalo Bills

For the first time since early November, the unconvincing Buffalo Bills showed up. But Josh Allen and James Cook had built up enough of a lead to hang on in Cleveland and stay within touching distance in the AFC East.

4. New England Patriots

Though they were pushed by Snoop Huntley and the Baltimore Ravens, a 15-point fourth quarter helped the New England Patriots rebound from last week’s meltdown against the Bills. A game up on Buffalo, with two cupcakes left on their schedule, the Pats are inching toward a division title.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars

While it won’t be enough to get into the MVP mix, nobody has played better over the last month than Trevor Lawrence. The Jags continue to prove their quality and, crucially, stay ahead of a similarly surging divisional foe.

6. Denver Broncos

A loss to the red-hot Jaguars shouldn’t shake too much in Denver, but the end of an 11-game winning streak means the AFC West, and the conference’s No. 1 seed, could be in play in Week 18 against the L.A. Chargers.

7. Houston Texans

It was far too close for comfort against a hapless Raiders squad, but a seventh straight win for the Houston Texans secured a third straight 10-win season for CJ Stroud’s squad.

8. San Francisco 49ers

The Seahawks came out winners on Thursday night – but so too did the San Francisco 49ers. With wins in Weeks 16 and 17, the injury plagued Niners could be in line to play for the NFC West title, and home-field advantage in the NFC, in Week 18.

9. Chicago Bears

It took a wildly unlikely fourth down touchdown catch and an even more improbable onside kick recovery, but the Chicago Bears got revenge over big brother to reclaim control of the NFC North in an instant classic. With San Francisco on the schedule next week, the Bears’ next challenge will be remaining on top of the division.

10. Green Bay Packers

An early concussion for Jordan Love took the wind out of the Packers’ sails on Saturday night, despite an admirable effort out of Malik Willis. Now, Green Bay is going to need a little help if it wants to start the playoffs at Lambeau – and has to face a desperate Baltimore Ravens team next week.
