NFL Week 9 Recap & Game Highlights
NFL Week 9 was headlined by another classic clash between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen – but the party was crashed by a thriller between Joe Flacco and Caleb Williams, too. As the season barrels toward the business end, there’s plenty to unpack in the NFL Week 9 highlights, before the BET99 NFL odds turn the page over to Week 10.
After six NFL odds underdogs won outright in Week 9, BET99 has your NFL weekend recap, highlighted by the biggest games from Week 9 and looking ahead to Week 10 betting predictions.
NFL Week 9 Recap & Game Highlights
Steelers 27 Colts 20 (Pittsburgh +3)
The Pittsburgh Steelers hurried and harassed Daniel Jones into five turnovers, as the league’s most efficient offense came undone for a day. For Pittsburgh, it’s a confidence booster that it can hang with any team; in Indy, an early kick-off in England in Week 10 can’t come soon enough as it looks to turn the page.
Bears 47 Bengals 42 (Chicago -3)
Joe Flacco is getting the Joe Burrow experience in Cincinnati, as for the umpteenth time a pathetic defensive showing from the Bengals sabotages offensive brilliance. Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears’ offense remains maddeningly inconsistent and unpredictable, but their last gasp win in Ohio keeps them in the NFC North picture.
Bills 28 Chiefs 21 (Buffalo +2.5)
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills moved to 5-1 against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the regular season. With the New England Patriots pushing the Bills every step of the way this year, it was a crucial win.
NFL Week 9 Power Rankings 2025
1. Kansas City Chiefs
A Kansas City Chiefs resurgence hit a speed bump in Western New York, but in a league without a single standout power, the league’s most recent dynastic power gets the nod.
2. L.A. Rams
The best team nobody talks about, the L.A. Rams simply continue their run of no-nonsense victories.
3. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts’ offense faced a curveball in the form of a Pittsburgh Steelers schematic masterclass – for now, Indy’s loss is an exception, not a sign of what’s to come.
4. Detroit Lions
An upset loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings and the returning JJ McCarthy is the latest uncharacteristically timid game out of the Detroit Lions.
5. Seattle Seahawks
A dominant Sunday Night Football victory was the latest piece of evidence that these Seattle Seahawks, guided by Sam Darnold, have ascended to contender status.
6. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills entered their bye week at a pivotal point and have since dismantled a poor Panthers team and then knocked off the Chiefs. As always, it’s a potential January rematch that matters to Josh Allen and co., however.
7. Denver Broncos
Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos have made winning ugly a habit. Provided their defense can sustain a period without Patrick Surtain II, that’s just fine.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A tremendous test awaits the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming off their bye: a Tom Brady Bowl, as they host the New England Patriots.
9. Philadelphia Eagles
Like the Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles successfully held off doom at what felt like the cliff – sustaining that upswing, fresh off a bye, is the next test.
10. New England Patriots
Drake Maye’s on a rocketship to stardom, as a franchise starved for a new era continues to enjoy a feast of quality football in 2025.
