Crowded Title Race Expected in 2025/26 Premier League Season
The 2024/25 Premier League campaign ended with an unexpected champion - but not an especially close fight.
Arne Slot’s first year at Liverpool ended in a stroll, the Reds brushing aside an underwhelming Arsenal to win by 10 points. It could’ve been uglier, too: Liverpool eased off after sealing the deal early, taking just two points from their last four games.
Fast forward to this summer and the champions look even sharper. At +175* to repeat, Liverpool have reinforced with Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, and record signing Florian Wirtz - a squad upgrade aimed at ruling England and making waves in Europe.
But this time, the chase should be real. Arsenal (+225) is desperate to break their three-year streak as runners-up. Mikel Arteta addressed long-standing gaps with Martin Zubimendi in midfield and Viktor Gyökeres up front both built for the fight.
Manchester City (+335) might have stumbled last season but ignore them at your peril. Pep Guardiola still has Erling Haaland, a deep squad, and a war chest big enough to rebuild overnight. Six titles in eight years says they’ll be back.
Chelsea (+790) lurk as the wild card. With over 50 signings in three years, they’re absurdly deep and fresh off two 2025 trophies -- the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup.
Rounding out the top five, at +2,400, is the formerly glorious Manchester United. After one of the worst seasons in club history, Man Utd has bolstered a deeply flawed squad and will look to at least return to Europe after a 15th-place finish a year ago.
Three favourites, one dark horse, a former empire, and the most stacked field in years. The 2025/26 Premier League could finally give us the title fight we’ve been waiting for.
