NFL Week 4 Recap & Game Highlights
From the league’s first ever game in Ireland to a wild Sunday Night Football affair that ended in a tie, the NFL Week 4 scores featured drama wire to wire as the first month of the season neared a close.
With five NFL odds underdogs winning outright in Week 4, Sunday taught us the league landscape still has plenty to unfold despite the nearing quarter poll. BET99 has your NFL weekend recap, highlighted by the biggest games from Week 4 and looking ahead to Week 5.
NFL Week 4 Recap & Game Highlights
Eagles 31 Buccaneers 25 (Philadelphia -3.5)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers outscored the Philadelphia Eagles 19-5 in the second half, and twice in the fourth quarter Baker Mayfield got the ball with the chance to lead a potential game-winning drive, but twice Baker’s season-long magic fell short. Despite the admirable comeback effort from Tampa, after a no-show first half, Philly’s victory helped illustrate the difference between good and great in the NFC.
Chiefs 37 Ravens 20 (Kansas City +2.5)
In Week 4, the Kansas City Chiefs were a home underdog for only the third time in the Patrick Mahomes era – and for the second time in three weeks. Kansas City responded like the proud champion it is, dismantling the Baltimore Ravens and forcing their AFC foes to fold early in the third quarter with a vague hamstring injury sidelining Lamar Jackson for the rest of the game.
Cowboys 40 Packers 40 (Dallas +6.5)
One of the season’s finest primetime games required an additional 10 minutes, and it still wasn’t enough to find a difference in an epic showdown between two classic NFC franchises. George Pickens stepped up in CeeDee Lamb’s absence, while Micah Parsons saved his moment in a Dallas homecoming for the biggest moment, stopping a would-be Dak Prescott touchdown.
NFL Week 4 Power Rankings 2025
1. Buffalo Bills
The Bills stayed undefeated, despite facing a much tougher test than expected from the New Orleans Saints. At this point, it’ll take a loss for Buffalo to be dislodged – and that might not even be enough.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Another week, another playoff-calibre outfit dispatched by the defending champion Eagles. There’s a lot still to solve in Philly, but with so many ways to win, the Birds keep finding a way.
3. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are rolling now, and the Browns’ great defense did little to slow them in Week 4. Early season speedbumps are far in the distance – while greatness is approaching on the horizon.
4. L.A. Rams
The top three spots in league-wide power rankings are difficult to dispute, regardless of how they’re ordered. Beyond that? It’s a collection of good teams that might be great. The Rams, having seen off the undefeated Colts, continue to inch toward the league’s highest reaches.
5. Green Bay Packers
The Packers and Micah Parsons likely saw his Dallas return going differently, with Green Bay playing down to an opponent for a second straight week. But, in a league short on top level teams, the ceiling of this Packers team remains so tantalizing.
6. L.A. Chargers
The Bolts suffered their first loss of the season as the Giants enjoyed a pyrrhic victory in Jaxson Dart’s home debut, but L.A.'s misstep felt more like an anomaly than cause for concern. With divisional kings Kansas City now just a game behind the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh’s going to need his team to put the Meadowlands behind them – fast.
7. Kansas City Chiefs
Xavier Worthy returned and a Chiefs offense stuck in the mud was freed, as the AFC’s kings clawed back to .500 and began to resemble the team we’ve known for years.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker and the Bucs couldn’t continue their dramatic string of victories, but in bringing the fight to the Eagles in the second half, they prove they’ll be a tough out for any of the NFC’s best.
9. Seattle Seahawks
Despite a late comeback effort from Kyler Murray and the Cards, the Seahawks’ impressive start continued with a divisional win in Thursday Night Football. A looming matchup against the Bucs will be a great test for a team yet to beat a good opponent in 2025.
10. Indianapolis Colts
On the losing end in L.A., the Colts’ undefeated start came to an end. But, Indy’s impressive start travelled well and it’s past time to consider it a genuinely good team.
NFL Week 4 Scores & Standings
After Week 4 wrapped up, there’s a pair of teams still enjoying perfection – and a few more still looking for a first win.
Undefeated teams: Bills, Eagles.
Winless teams: Saints, Titans, Jets, Dolphins.
